Meet Kristie
(and Arlo!)
Kristie Self combines her love of history and romance to write faith-filled love stories with memorable characters and intriguing plots. A banker by day, she spends most of her nights and weekends focused on writing. She enjoys traveling, watching movies, and curling up with a good book. An avid lover of music, she also teaches piano, as well. She is a graduate of Howard Payne University and lives in Lott, Texas with her cat, Arlo.

What’s the best thing about being an author?
The ability to escape! Seriously, it's so fulfilling to be able to forget all the craziness in the world and escape to a place that exists only in my imagination. Hopefully, if I have done my job as a writer, then my readers will be able to escape with me.
How do you deal with writer’s block?
There is no easy cure for writer's block. The only way around it is to go through it, and the only way to go through it is by writing. If you're having trouble thinking of ideas, just start with something basic, like a journal entry or a blog post. Anything that gets your creative juices flowing will help. The more you write, the better the words will flow. And believe me, you are not alone. We've all been there. Just push through and it will get better, I promise.
What are your plans for The Ladies of Roderick Glen series?
I’ve actually already written the first 4 books in the series but I plan to write 8 books in all….the next will be published sometime in 2023.
What book are you working on next after The Dressmaker?
I am currently writing the 5th book in the Roderick Glen series.
